Valbonne is a medieval Provencal village between Cannes and Grasse, situated on the River brague at 15 km distance from the source of the river in Opio. Located in the Alpes-Maritimes, in the canton of Le Bar-sur-Loup. Valbonne, in Latin "Vallis bona", meaning "good valley."

 

It is a very nice old Provencal village situated between Cannes and Grasse with a beautiful old city center (17th century), Valbonne is a charming little village with wonderful restaurants, shops and a variety of delicacies business.

 

This village is radically different from most of the Provencal villages. This village is built on the basis of a strict construction plan that was created by the monks of Lerins Island. This island lies off the coast of Cannes. The village is surrounded by mansions and has up to four inputs, one on each side. If you try to find your way through the maze of streets in the old town you will certainly past the Place des Arcades, which dates from the 17th century, the hotel de ville. You can also admire a beautiful fountain which horses and donkeys used for years.

Near Valbonne you'll find many nice places to visit: Biot, Mougins, St Paul de Vence and of course the beaches of Cannes, Antibes and Juan les Pins, which are only about 12 km away.

 

Valbonne is ideal for a golfing holiday with as many as 10 golf courses within 15 km distance.
